At the age of 4 years Tatjana Malek has started playing tennis and handball. The athletic talent, she was placed in the cradle, because her father Heinrich was a Polish national team in handball. Her two brothers Daniel (22) and Matthias (21) are active in sports. Daniel plays for FC Singen 04 in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg and Matthias Bad Saulgau in the district league football. Her mother Margit is currently a teacher at the primary school in Bad Saulgau.
Youth
Quick celebrated the young Tatjana success in tennis. In youth, she won numerous district championships and Württemberg Championships. In the age groups U14 and U18 she became German champion.
After their first German championship in 2000, it was clear that Tatjana concentrate on tennis and handball remain for only a little time.
In the following years you established himself on the ITF Tour.
Profile: – Juniors
2006
Tatjana made her debut in FED CUP team, under national coach Barbara Rittner. She won her first two ITF singles titles in Hechingen and in Les Contamines, France.
2007
Two of her highlights this year were to the Fed Cup match in Japan. In this she won two individual points plus the colon for Germany so as to rise into the first world group.
Furthermore, it was Tatjana celebrate their first victory in a $ 100,000 + H in Bratislava and ended the year as number 102 in the world.
2008
An unrecognized thrombosis this year resulted in a pulmonary embolism and a 6-month mandatory break. With a totally new beginning, it went back to the end of September tour and Tatjana won the tournament in Ismaning ($ 50,000) for themselves.
In December, then unfortunately her father died of cancer.
2009
After this hard blow succeeded Tatjana at the Australian Open
and Wimbledon in the second Round.
Furthermore it could victories in Stockholm ($ 25,000),
Markaska ($ 50,000) and celebrate in the Bronx ($ 100,000 + H).
This led to their previous Bestranking 64 in the world rankings.
2010 + 2011
That was two years ago with a lot of grief with Tatjana. She struggled greatly with the loss of her father and could not really find support in those years on the tennis court.
This makes them even slipped back to 220 in the world.
2012
Tatjana battled back and climbed from rank 209 to rank 112 in front again. She won her first WTA doubles title in Quebec alongside Kristine Mladenovic of France and is currently on track to get back into the top 100.
